Dr. Claudia Bess
Technical University of Kenya | Course Developer – Alternative Fuels: Hydrogen
Dr. Claudia Bess is a Lecturer in the Department of Chemical and Biosystems Engineering at the Technical University of Kenya. Her academic and research background spans chemical and process engineering, civil engineering and environmental research.
Her research interests include environmental pollution, wastewater and emerging pollutants such as microplastics. Her doctoral research focused on the characterisation and modelling of microplastic pollution in selected communities in Nairobi, Kenya, and her research has also examined microplastic pollution and mitigation within the Nairobi River Basin.
As a course developer for the PLEASE Project, Dr. Bess is contributing to Alternative Fuels: Hydrogen. The course introduces an important area of the transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy systems, connecting engineering knowledge with emerging energy technologies and environmental considerations.
Her interdisciplinary engineering background provides a valuable perspective for developing learning content around the technical and environmental dimensions of alternative fuels.
